KEMAH, TX – April 23, 2026 – VIP Marinas and the Marina Bay Harbor Marina team officially began construction on a 63,990-square-foot dry storage expansion during a ceremonial groundbreaking held April 22, 2026. This four-acre project is a joint venture between VIP Marinas, Marina Bay Harbor Marina, Anchor Construction, and Cameron Land and Marine Development, supported by the cities of Kemah and Clear Lake Shores.
The ceremony brought together the Mayors of Kemah and Clear Lake Shores, the Anchor Construction team, the Marina Bay Harbor Marina team, and Founder and Owner of VIP Marinas, Austin Cameron, along with his wife, Jenny Cameron. City officials and partners took up ceremonial shovels and donned hard hats to mark the start of the landmark project.
With every property we take on, our goal is to create more than a marina. We want to build destinations that bring people to the water, support the local community, and create long-term value for boaters, guests, and the surrounding area. Marina Bay Harbor is a perfect example of that vision coming to life. This expansion represents the next chapter for the property and reflects the brand we have been building at VIP Marinas for the past 17 years.

Scheduled to open in January 2027, the facility will introduce 288 new slips, nearly doubling the footprint of the existing storage facility. The new infrastructure will accommodate vessels over 50 feet in length, a capability currently unmatched among Galveston-area marinas. Additionally, a new 5,000-square-foot ship store is slated to open in May 2027 to provide expanded amenities.
John Judice, General Manager of Marina Bay Harbor, said he is excited to see the expansion move forward and proud of what it will bring to the local boating community. As a local leader at the marina, Judice sees the project as an opportunity to better serve boaters, create jobs, and strengthen Marina Bay Harbor’s role as a gathering place for the Clear Lake Shores and Kemah communities.
