VIP Marinas and the Marina Bay Harbor Marina team are excited to announce the construction of a 63,990-square-foot, 288-slip dry storage solution at its Clear Lake Shores, Texas location to open in January 2027. The expansion barn will complement the existing 65,700-square-foot dry boat storage space that includes 7,000 square feet of aluminum and ipe Brazilian hardwood docks. The storage barn will be complemented by a 5,000-square-foot ship store to open in May 2027 which will provide additional amenities and services to the marina as well as the surrounding community. Marina Bay Harbor’s state-of-the-art facility will be the only dry boat storage near Galveston that will serve boats over 50 feet, and will offer a “best valet boat storage” experience with the best customer service on the Gulf Coast for Houston, Galveston, Clear Lake, and Kemah boaters.
Our venture into a new barn is collaborative. The project is a joint build between VIP Marinas, Marina Bay Harbor Marina, and Cameron Land and Marine Development, with gracious support from the City of Kemah, City of Clear Lake Shores, and Galveston County. We are also working together with a wealth of supporting architectural and engineering partners that include Boucher Design Group, UES, Kimley-Horn, Shelmark Engineering, Texas Marine Pile Drivers, Anchor Construction, and our metal barn supplier, Roof and Rack.

A marina grounded in its people
The Marina Bay Harbor team has grown relationships over decades since it first opened in 2003. We are community partners with the Lakewood Yacht Club, the Clear Lake Boat Club, the Clear Lake Shores Yacht Club, the Texas Corinthian Yacht Club, and the Texas Offshore Performance Powerboat Squadron (TOPPS). We are an official weigh and registration station for the annual Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) STAR Tournament, support Folds of Honor with annual fundraising events, and sponsor Clear Lake Fishing Charters, our preferred fishing charter service. All of these pieces in the aggregate foster themselves as a group of boaters who love to spend time together, share their knowledge, and do it at a state-of-the-art location.

Our location in a protected cove south of the channel between Clear Lake and Galveston Bay provides members with a smooth entrance out into Galveston Bay and on to the Gulf. Our dry boat storage facilities are uniquely situated 26 land miles north of Galveston and 35 miles south of Houston, so any coastal Texas boater can find us easily accessible for the weekend. Marina Bay Harbor’s pricing structure will remain in line with our current rates. Members receive a significant discount (of almost 20 percent) for paying yearly up front instead of monthly for a slip. Pre-booking reservations are made with a non-refundable deposit and we secure your place on a first-come, first-served basis.
What kind of perks and access do I receive as a member at Marina Bay Harbor Marina?
Members from Galveston to Kemah find that great boat storage isn’t the only upside. All members receive fuel discounts and have access to everything they need for their boat and day on the water. We have experienced and certified technicians on location as well as an on-site parts store. Our experienced service technicians are certified in Yamaha, Mercury Marine, and Suzuki engines. Our bait selection is the best at Clear Lake, and our members participate in events that include the TOPPS Poker Runs, Clear Lake Boar Club Poker Runs, Clear Lake Boat Parade, the Texas Outlaw Challenge, and the December Port O’Connor Toy Run.

Call or text us at least an hour before you’re here, or plug your request into the Speedy Dock app, and you’ll arrive to find your boat on-water with all of your ice, bait, and drinks already stocked onboard. Once we fuel your boat, we can give you as little or as much knowledge as you’d like about the coastal waters and areas to fish. When you return, we flush your engine and rinse the vessel from the rub rail down.”

The Marina Bay Harbor Marina expansion barn will be the only barn in the region to offer a home for boats over 50 feet long. We run two heavy-duty forklifts throughout the day, by operators who live to move boats. When the storms come, we’re naturally protected on three sides, a quarter-mile inland of Galveston Bay. Our security and communications are unmatched, and our members can speak to a culture that is welcoming, knowledgeable, and safe.
